Finding Your macOS Laptop’s MAC Address
Here are some great ways to get a MacBook MAC address:
- Click on the Apple menu in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Choose your format.
- Select the Trust option.
- Select the network (Wi-Fi, Ethernet, etc.).
- Click the Add button in the upper right corner.
- The device has a MAC address.
- The more routers you have on your computer, the more MAC addresses you have.

Method 2: Terminal
- Open the terminal app.
- Type ipconfig getifaddr en0 and press Enter (replace en0 with the best network if important). This will show your IPv4 address.

You can use an internet service to locate your public IP address. Search “What is my IP address” in your browser and see what results appear on the “Public IP Address” page.
Note: Public IP addresses may also vary depending on your community connection.

Unlike Windows or Linux, macOS does not automatically generate UUIDs. However, other techniques may also use the same definition.
Method 1: Use System Statistics
- Click the Apple link and choose This Mac.
- Click the Manage Reports button.
- Get the UUID of the device.
Method 2: Open Terminal (Drive UUID)
- Open the terminal.
- Enter the diskutil code and insert the disk.
- Enter the UUID to locate it on the disk (e.g., /dev/disk0s2).
Get facts about disk /dev/disk0s2. Enter password and UUID (to alternate disk ID).
Note: This function uses the UUID of a single disk or volume instead of the UUID of the entire system.

Type msinfo32 and press Enter to display the System Information dialog box.
Look at the System Summary on the left.
Find the system UUID in the right column. This is the unique identifier of your Lenovo laptop.
